You ask, Why would we promote Dollar Stores? Well's we don't sell the items that we are encouraging you to look at. All types of inexpensive garden helpers like hand tools, & gloves.
Most dollar stores have a huge selection of gardening gloves. Lot's of cute patterns and different types for different needs. Cotton, plastic, & leather. They are all good in their own ways, so try them on. At the dollar price, buy a couple of different kinds and see which ones worked out the best when you were potting up your garden planters.
Check out their plant markers, gardening hand tools and seed packets. They have decorative stakes and wind twisters which are fun and playful. When it comes their plastic pots be wary. Plastic pots from a dollar store are ok for starting seeds in but never should be used outdoors. Even in mild climates the sun will dry them out and they will fade & eventually crack. They are not good for outdoor planting.
