Here are a few tips on what to plant NOW
It's that time again to grab your gloves & hand trowel, a few new planter pots and head out to get to business.
Not every garden is ready for these steps yet but there is nothing
stopping you from getting prepared now. When its the right time for you
to head outdoors you will have all the supplies you need.

Begin by gathering your old & new planters. If any planters are dirty or cracked, they need to be cleaned with hot water & soap. And, any cracks need to be replaced.
First items to look at is Basil, Mint, Flowers like Marigolds and veggies like corn, cucumbers & beans.

Make sure you have plenty of potting mix, fertilizer, mulch &
support structures. If you are planting tomatoes it's best to insert
the tomato cage now when first planting. Make sure the planter you are using will fit the tomato cage you are buying. Best to go small on the cage and larger on the pot.

Don't forget to monitor your pest control and what kind of
strategies you are going to use. Meaning, don't wait till you see pest
damage. Be proactive and purchase or make the pest control you are
going to use.

Lastly, time to see how much watering your newly potted garden is
going to need, write it down and stick with it. Plants in garden containers
need more and consistent water than if you plant directly in the
ground. This is a good time to buy a bag of mulch. Mulch helps the
soil retain the moisture during the warm months. Don't skip this step.
It really helps to mulch your potted garden when it is planted.
