This Westcott Pergola vase is another unusual architectural garden planter from Frank Lloyd Wright. The planter has a huge bowl sitting on an originally designed pedestal that is both contemporary and functional. The details surrounding the opening at the top are stunning. With its large flat square rim and pillar supports on 2 sides, this container is a true original. This three-piece concrete garden planter reproduction was created for the Burton J Westcott house. Three planters were installed on one side of the pergola wall. Frank Lloyd Wright produced designs for the entire outdoor living space which created a seamless flow on continuity to the whole landscape.

The original of this vase adorned a pergola that connected the main house to the carriage house. Burton J. Westcott Pergola, Springfield, OH 1906. Each piece of pottery is authorized by the Frank Lloyd Wright Foundation Taliesin West, Scottsdale, Arizona and has been developed with the cooperation of the Frank Lloyd Wright Home & Studio Foundations and the Robie House Museum Properties of the National Trust for historic preservation. A portion of the sales of these planters supports the conservation and education programs of these institutions. Each planter is assigned a numbered Frank Lloyd Wright signature plaque to distinguish its place in the frank Lloyd Wright Stoneware collection.
