Turn Plain Flowerpots Into Something Special

See what a little gold paint can do to transform a plain, old flowerpot from GardenTherapy. Gilding items this time of year of popular and really in the holiday spirit.
Start with a clay flowerpot with no texture. We recommend out Italian Flowerpots because the clay is smooth and compact, even through porous. However the best looking finish came from a plastic pot. It lets the shine really come thru.
First clean the pot with soap and water. Rinse well and allow to dry. Place the pots upside down on cardboard. Shake the can of paint long enough to mix or you will have issues. Spray the potsevenly. Let dry. That's it.

Mix paint in old cup, more white than grey. Wad up paper towel dip in paint and start rubbing on the pot. When you achieve the look you like, let the pot dry completely. Sand the pot lightly.
Take a graphic you printed on a 8 x 10 piece of parchment paper on a plain old style printer. It doesn't have to be a laser printer. Cut to size & starting with the center, press it down on your pot. Use the credit card, press & smooth the parchment without moving it. Carefully life off . Let your ink dry completely.
